...I thought it was "going green..."

If you remember in particular if you're a Sydneysider, there was an event promoted by the World Wide Fund for Nature Australia (WWF) called Earth Hour this time last year.

For those who don't know what it is; basically it involves switching off unessential appliances and lights for an hour between 8pm and 9pm local time, in order to conserve energy and lower carbon emissions.

Last year's statistics have shown that as much as 2.2 million Sydneysiders (that's around half the city's population!) and 2,100 businesses participated - this has cutted electricity use in Sydney by as much as 2.1% and 10.2%! Wow!

You of course, do not need to be in Sydney to participate. Just do the following if you can and we can all make a difference together!

• Light candles (make sure you get an adult to help if you're not familiar with doing this!)
• Go outside, lay back and look at the stars
• Tell ghost stories
• Sleep!
